Dividend Boost: Shaw Communications

Shaw Communications Inc. boosted its dividend by two thirds after the company said fourth-quarter profit tripled.

Net income rose to $210.4-million or 97 cents a share for the quarter ended August 31, from a year-earlier $70-million or 31 cents a share.

The company will hike its annual-equivalent dividend rate by 67 per cent to $1 a share for its class B non-voting share from 60 cents.
