Finding An Investment Mentor

Yesterday I posted about finally finding a partner for the franchise operation. The potential partner is a very successful businessman and active member of the business community, including the chamber of commerce.

This man has been investing and building businesses for years and knows the ins and outs of the process. This is someone that I can learn from and hopefully he will be willing to guide me.

I also asked him to tell me about things that he is working on and offered to help him in exchange for “learning the ropes”. This is a principle that I learned from reading Rich Dad Poor Dad and it actually worked! He invited me to attend a lunch meeting to discuss some of the things that he is working on and some of the ideas that I have.

We will be meeting at 12:00 PM on August 15, 2006. I am going to bring some notes, but mostly I plan on listening and asking questions. I am fully prepared to volunteer my time in order to learn. I am hopeful that this will be a successful meeting and the start of a great (and profitable) learning experience.

Any comments on how you found your mentor would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has any questions that they think I should ask or any suggestions on how to make the most of this meeting, I would be glad to hear them. Please feel free to
e-mail me
or leave a comment on this blog.

Thanks for your suggestions and have a crazy profitable day!
