I have been hard at work this week reformatting the blog to make it easier to read and allow for a more appealing overall appearance. Please feel free to e-mail me and let me know if you like it and if there is anything that would be better for you.
For those of you who are following Kyle MacDonald and his quest to trade one red paperclip for a house, you will be pleased to know that he succeeded in exactly one year to trade one red paperclip for a house. Check out his blog for the full details! What an amazing and inspirational story.
Now that I have finished writing the Canadian Securities Course exams, I am looking forward to spending some more time researching other investment opportunities. I am going to call a gentleman in town today who has 50 rental properties and has just advertised for someone to be a handyman for him to take care of them. I know that he is getting older and I am hoping that he will be willing to meet with me to discuss real estate investing in the city and maybe give me some pointers.
I am also going to be speaking with another gentleman who could be the potential financial partner that I need to get my franchise operation off the ground. I just need to find someone who is interested and who believes in me. It should be interesting if I can ever get the process moving.
I am banking on getting my finders fee money for the property that I found for an investment group out of Calgary, Alberta. They are closing on the property on August 1, 2006 and I should get my check shortly thereafter if everything goes according to plan.
We still have not found a suitable building for the fitness center, but we continue to look.
Hopefully everyone is doing well and I wish everyone the best of luck in their investing endeavors.
