Where I get my Investment and Stock Information!

Last night I received an e-mail from a reader who asked where I get my investment and stock information. On a daily basis I read a variety or blogs and websites, as well as some forums.

These readings provide me with different information that I use to gauge investment opportunities.

If I want general financial information on an American company, I will usually use Yahoo Finance. For Canadian companies I will use TSX or The Globe and Mail.

If I am looking for a chart for a stock, there is no better free tool available than Stockcharts. All of their charts are highly customizable and they also offer market breadth charts which I use to help determine any market biases.

For a preliminary screening tool, I use the Free Deluxe Screener from MSN.

The sites that I read for trading stocks are mostly run by professional traders and they include Market Stock Watch, The Kirk Report, Trader Mike, Investors Business Daily and Smart Trader Blog.

For Real Estate I usually check out Mr. Landlord for info and tips about everything you need to know about being a landlord. The local multiple listing service is great to get an idea of local prices in an area and to see exactly what is available and how long similar units tend to stay on the market. I also check out the Alberta Real Estate Investment Network and the classified ads from the major local papers.

I hope that this will help you in finding general financial and investing information!

Have a crazy productive day!
